The workshop focuses on the current research trends in the area of Environmental Protection based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques. Artificial intelligence can provide efficient tools for most environmental problems of monitoring, analysis, interpretation, forecasting, management, and control.
AI techniques and approaches such as knowledge-based systems, expert systems, decision support systems, machine learning, data mining, case-based reasoning, artificial neural networks, genetic algorithms, soft computing, spatial and temporal reasoning, planning, multiagent systems, and fuzzy logic can be applied to all areas of environmental sciences.
The workshop purpose is to promote the use of AI techniques in Environmental Protection problems by showing different case studies, as well as successful AI-based systems applied to air, water and soil protection.
