Who we are
The Logic Programming and Intelligent Systems (LPIS) Group was founded in 1990
and is part of the Programming Languages and Software Engineering (PLaSE) Lab of
the Department of Informatics, in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
The LPIS group's research interests focus on Intelligent Systems and span a wide
area of Artificial Intelligence, including Knowledge Representation and Reasoning,
Planning, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Logic Programming and the Semantic Web.
The LPIS group is divided into two research teams: a) Intelligent Systems and Knowledge Processing (ISKP), and b) Machine Learning and Knowledge Discovery (MLKD). You can either browse the main LPIS site or the individual
The LPIS group is an active node of the Hellenic Society for Artificial Intelligence,
and had organized the 2nd National Conference on Artificial Intelligence in
Thessa-loniki in 2002. It has also organized the 2nd International Summer
